Concept:

I love teaching art. Teaching is absolutely a two-way street for me. I get as much out of it as my students do. This painting proves this being the case.

 

A year or two before I did this painting, I had a particular student that was a high school freshman. One particular class, she painted a tree on a black background and I told her the way she was painting the stars that it looked like they were a part of the tree's foliage. She then developed that concept and her work. Using this concept of adding elements to the natural structure of a tree, I eventually came up with the "Bubble Tree" painting. After finishing that painting I decided to give my interpretation of a tree with stars for leaves.
